17.05.16 ~ BELINDA CLARK: Commissioner of the Victorian Public Sector Commission
WOMANZ are delighted to have Belinda Clark, the Commissioner of the Victorian Public Sector Commission as our next keynote speaker
Belinda is a lawyer with over 30 years’ public sector management experience. Prior to taking up the role of Victorian Public Sector Commissioner she held a number of senior government roles in New Zealand including: Secretary and Chief Executive of the Ministry of Justice for over 10 years; inaugural Director of the Office of Treaty Settlements – a body set up to negotiate and settle Maori claims against the Crown; and Chief Executive of the Tertiary Education Commission. Belinda has also been a Deputy Secretary in Te Puni Kokiri (Ministry of Maori Development) and in the Accident Compensation Corporation.
Belinda has a BA and LLB (Hons) from the University of Auckland and a LLM in International Law from New York University (NYU). She was admitted to the New Zealand Bar in 1983; is a Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Management and Patron of a New Zealand Police Wing. She was made a Companion of the Queen’s Service Order for services to the State in the New Zealand Honours Awards 2014.
