Join us to celebrate Waitangi Day on 6 February 2019
You’re invited to join WOMANZ and NZTE members, the New Zealand Consulate and other special guests for a unique celebration of what has become New Zealand’s national day.
Always a stirring and memorable event, this is an opportunity not to be missed. Waitangi Day 2019 marks the 179th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi, New Zealand’s founding document. Signed on February 6th 1840 by representatives of the British Crown and over 500 Maori chiefs, this document made New Zealand a part of the British Empire, guaranteed Maori rights to their land and gave Maori the rights of British subjects.
Last year more than 100 people shared this very special evening with us and we expect the 2019 event to be no different. With the Te Hononga O Nga Iwi Maori Party performing and a special raffle to win 2 nights accommodation at the stunning Whistler Apartments Queestown this is an event you cannot miss!
Thanks to our event sponsors NZTE and Herbert Smith Freehills, this is a free event. Light refreshments will be served. Please click here to RSVP for this event by 1 February.
