Annette King commenced duties as the New Zealand High Commissioner to Australia in December 2018. Leader of the New Zealand Labour Party and Deputy Leader of the Opposition from 2008 to 2011 and 2014-2017 and a Senior Cabinet Minister in the Fifth Labour Government of New Zealand and the MP for the Rongotai electorate in Wellington from 1996 to 2017, her portfolios included Health, Police, Transport and Justice.
Annette will share her journey and some insights into the role of a High Commissioner – the objectives and challenges of the role and what a day in the life of the High Commissioner looks like. Join us from 5.30pm for a 6.15pm start.
