WOMANZ warmly welcomes you to the Melbourne launch of Every Second Counts by award winning Kiwi journalist, Charlotte Glennie.
For those who lived in New Zealand in the late 90s and 2000s, Charlotte will be a familiar face and voice. As a senior broadcast journalist, she brought us stories from across the country and then Asia. From New Zealand, her career took her on to the ABC and the BBC, and her professionalism and empathy earned her accolades including the New Zealand’s Supreme Award for Excellence in Television Journalism and the New Zealand Government Special Service Medal.
Hear about it, then snap up your own copy!
Every Second Counts is a fascinating, fast-paced memoir about the adrenaline-fuelled life of a journalist during the heyday of television news - long before social media and selfies became our information mainstays.
The book covers Charlotte’s fascinating career in New Zealand, Australia and Asia and, including how she became a news story herself when she survived a near-fatal accident when backpacking in Croatia. She went on to break new ground as the first New Zealand correspondent to film in North Korea, and was on the ground quickly to report on the horrors of the Boxing Day tsunami which killed over 230,000 people.
Come and hear from Charlotte at this unique WOMANZ event, and support one of our trailblazing professional Kiwi women, now living in Sydney.
