When Judi Jones accepted the role of Ombudsman at Australia’s highest volume complaint service, she wasn’t prepared for where the Yellow Brick Road would take her. How did she successfully navigate the lions, tigers and bears? With brains, heart and courage, of course.

Join WOMANZ on 6 October 2021 to hear from another inspiring Kiwi leader applying her skills in Australia.

Wednesday 6 October 2021, 5.30pm - 6.30pm (AEST, registration is free)

Judi Jones has held the role of Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman since March 2016, when she moved from Wellington to Melbourne. Judi took up the role at a time when, after five years of decline, phone and internet complaints began to significantly increase across Australia. Under Judi’s leadership, the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman has put delivering fair, independent and accessible dispute resolution at the heart of the organisation.

Judi previously held the position of Electricity and Gas Complaints Commissioner in New Zealand for 14 years. As the inaugural Commissioner, Judi established a body seen as the leading scheme in the consumer dispute resolution sector in New Zealand. Judi also held positions in New Zealand’s Advertising Standards Complaints Board and Appeal Board, Massey University’s Dispute Resolution Centre, the electricity industry’s Security and Reliability Council, and was Chair of Consumer NZ.

Judi holds a law degree and a Masters in Business Studies with Distinction in Dispute Resolution.

If you have questions you would like to ask Judi please email info@womanz.org.au or use the chat function in the zoom meeting on the night.

Ahead of Judi’s address there will be an opportunity to network with other WOMANZ members.

Wednesday 6 October, 5.30pm – 6.30pm AEST
